If you are finding it increasingly difficult to read your phone or menus without reaching for reading glasses, you are experiencing presbyopia.
What is it?
PRESBYOND Laser Blended Vision is a specialized form of laser vision correction that I may consider to reduce dependence on reading glasses in patients with presbyopia.
How does it work?
Similar to LASIK, I create a corneal flap and use an excimer laser with a specialized PRESBYOND software profile to reshape the cornea.
The treatment utilizes specialized wavefront-guided excimer laser profiles and advanced planning software.
Is this for me?
During your assessment, I will check how well you tolerate the blended vision approach before deciding whether PRESBYOND is suitable for you.
This may be suitable for patients over 40 experiencing presbyopia who wish to reduce their reliance on reading glasses.
This procedure may not be suitable if you have significant cataracts or if you are unable to adapt to blended vision.
Recovery
While initial visual recovery is quick, neuroadaptation—the process of your brain adjusting to the new blended vision—can take several weeks or months.
Considerations
Risks include temporary dry eye, flap-related complications, and a period of visual neuroadaptation where vision may fluctuate.
